Pub News
A licensing application has been made to open a new bottled beer shop/bar in Tavistock; Duke of York, also in Tavistock, now serves Dartmoor Jail Ale, alongside Sharp’s Doom Bar. There have been no Cask Marque additions or deletions this month.
Following the AGM, the Branch Committee would like to encourage more members to beer score when visiting pubs. This is to try and help us to see any trends – good or bad – with beer quality in our branch pubs. For the period from 1st April to 30th June 2018, we have had 500 beer scores provided by 45 members for 101 different pubs – TVM! For advice on beer scoring, please see National Beer Scoring System. Members can beer score any pub in any branch area, but we would like to encourage you to beer score the following pubs (listed alphabetically by town):-
Olde Plough Inn, Bere Ferrers; Horse & Groom, Bittaford; Foxhound Inn, Brixton; Drake Manor Inn, Buckland Mona; Burrator Inn, Dousland; Miners Arms, Hemerdon; Forest Inn, Hexworthy; Royal Inn, Horsebridge; Dolphin Inn, Kingston; Castle Inn, Lydford; Mary Tavy Inn, Mary Tavy; Royal Oak Inn, Meavy; Modbury Inn, Modbury; Ship Inn, Noss Mayo; Admiral MacBride, Barbican; Artillery Arms, Stonehouse; Bread & Roses, City Centre; Brewery Tap, Stonehouse; Britannia Inn, Milehouse; Crown & Anchor, Barbican; Dolphin Hotel, Barbican; Fawn Private Members Club, Greenbank; Ferry House Inn, Saltash Passage; Fishermans Arms, Barbican; Fortescue Hotel, Mutley; George Toby Carvery, Roborough; James Street Vaults, North Hill; Lopes Arms, Roborough; Minerva Inn, Barbican; Nowhere Inn, City Centre; Prince Maurice, Eggbuckland; Gipsy Moth, The Hoe; Union Rooms, City Centre; Vine, Stonehouse; Waterloo Inn, Stoke; Union Inn, Plympton; Blue Peter, Plymstock; East Dart Inn, Postbridge; Warren House Inn, Postbridge; Journey's End Inn, Ringmore; Boringdon Arms, Turnchapel; Clovelly Bay Inn, Turnchapel; & Odd Wheel, Wembury.
