Our January social is again the Exeter beer festival, Plymouth members are advised to go on the Thursday or Friday to ensure you get the full range of ales & ciders. Choices tend to be depleted on the Saturday teatimes. So see you there on the one the first two days. Social Secretary will be going on the Friday, meeting at Plymouth Railway station at 10am to catch the 1027am train.

Branch social to Totnes, with the main aim of visiting the three venues that are breweries. CopperHead Brewery and Taproom at unit 6 Burke Road (opens at 12pm), Bridgetown Brewery at Albert Inn, 32 Bridgetown and Totnes Brewery at their micro pub, 59a High Street. The Albert Inn have their beer festival the week before and are planning four special ales (might be a chance they could have a 2nd barrel of one of their specials). The 1114am train gets to Totnes at 1140am, the 1127am train gets in at 1152am. It is approximately 13 mins walk from the Railway station to the Copperhead Brewery taproom, our first port of call.

Fortescue Hotel
This meeting is being held in the cellar bar at the Fortescue Hotel, Mutley Plain, Plymouth. It is for the Good Beer Guide selection for the 2027 edition, that will be launched in the Autumn (normally third week in September). Members are invited to come along and make their votes for the pubs/clubs that are on the nomination list which was compiled by members who attended the meeting at the Hyde Park pub on November 5th 2025. All those who nominated a venue or chose to do a survey are required to attend. If you cannot make the meeting get your forms sent in by email or post to the chairmans address prior to the event. Please also state on the survey form whether the venue deserves to be in the GBG or not. Meeting is expected to take approximately 2 hours, see you there, cheers.
