The following pub and brewery news was reported at the Branch Social Meeting on Wednesday 2nd May 2018.
Pub News
Swan Inn, Noss Mayo, recently acquired by Patron Capital from Punch Taverns, is reportedly closed (hopefully for refurbishment). The Complex, at Keyham, may also be closed, as is the Eighteen87, Laira Bridge. The Mildmay Colours, Holbeton, has changed hands recently, and serves 3 or 4 real ales, as has the West Hoe. The Desire, Barbican, has re-opened. Turnchapel Village Weekend will take place over the weekend of July 21st. The Clovelly Bay Inn will hold a Cider and Sausage festival, and the Boringdon Arms an Ale and Pie festival.

Roam Brewing Co are brewing an IPA in aid of local charity, Plymouth Drake Foundation, named Drake’s Pale Ale (ABV 4.8%) and officially launched the beer at Lord High Admiral, Stonehouse, on 4th May.
