Pub News
Carpe Diem, North Hill, has changed its name to Crafty Half. It has four cask ales, but serves only in half pint measures. The Cherry Tree, Ham Drive, is getting a new landlady soon. They have two pumps at present, with the potential for four. The Explorer, Tavistock, closed in January and is now part of Drakes Wine Bar & Cafe, centered around the upstairs room. The Tavistock Inn, Tavistock, now sells two Holsworthy Ales alongside Dartmoor Jail Ale.
Brewery News
There is no significant brewery news this month. However, all SIBA breweries are getting ready for the Maltings Beer Festival, Newton Abbot, in April. The festival runs from 1700 on Thursday 11 April until 2300 on Saturday 13 April 2019, in a marquee on the lawn in front of the Tucker’s Maltings building, 5 minutes walk from Newton Abbot railway station.
