Plymouth CAMRA Pub Name Archive
We have attempted to list all known pub names used in any licensed public house, bar, café, etc that has ever been used in the Plymouth CAMRA branch area. This means that one particular building may have a number of entries over all pages. We have split the list into more manageable pages, each one available to view in turn. However, you MUST sign in with your CAMRA membership number and password to do so. If you have any questions, or would like to help fill in any gaps, please email ku.gro.armac.htuomylp@retsambew, where updates will be greatly appreciated.
Please note that we have used the following code:-
Pubs in ITALICS are confirmed to have been demolished (mostly with year).
Pubs in BOLD may be open under that name - see Pub Link
Blitz WW II indicates that the pub suffered damage during the Blitz of April 1941. Some were demolished, some were repaired and some were re-built completely.
Please note that the "Three Towns" of Plymouth, Devonport and Stonehouse suffered quite extensive War Damage, and a number of roads have been renamed, renumbered or have disappeared completely. It should also be noted that the "Three Towns" often had pubs of the same name, and streets of the same name, making it more difficult to identify a particular pub, hence there are some gaps in my records.
It is also fair to assume that pubs listed as being in an area of the city that are not physically there today have been demolished! But when were they demolished? For example, George Street in the City Centre is no longer here - it was mostly cleared and replaced by New George Street.
