See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
This Dartmoor village pub has been completely refurbished by its local owners and saved from redevelopment. It is set close to the ancient bridge over the River Walkham, and serves two constantly-changing ales from local breweries. A corner room of the pub also serves as a cafe. The main area is split level with the upper part containing the bar, a large fireplace and access to the cafe. The lower area also has a small games room. All have various solid floors, simple decoration and furnishings, giving a modern but in keeping feel. The main bar, cafe and toilets can be reached by wheelchair from the car park at the rear. Accommodation and a function room are also available. The village is served by the regular Tavistock-Plymouth services on the main A386, approx. a 15 minute walk.
The Café is open from 0900-1600 Tue-Sat in summer (Easter - end September), for teas, coffees, cooked breakfasts, etc. (closed on Mondays and in winter).
