Pub and Brewery News - October 2013
The following extract has been copied and pasted from the Branch Meeting Minutes held on Wednesday October 2nd, 2013, at 8.00 pm at The Stoke Inn, Stoke, Plymouth.
The RABI, Saltash Passage, lease has expired, and the pub is now for sale. The Prince Maurice, Eggbuckland, has settled its rental agreement with the Wellington Pub Co, making it saleable. JD Wetherspoon has a Beer Festival from 16th - 31st October. The new JD Wetherspoon, Plympton, which will hopefully open on December 10th, will be called Prospect House.
The proposed Late-Night Levy consultation period ends this weekend. Plymouth Licensing Committee are proposing a levy period of 12.30 am - 5.00 am. A letter to the Licensing Committee was read out - this included allowable exemptions and a list of Plymouth's closed pubs. We suggested that if the levy goes ahead the levy period should be 1.00 am - 5.00 am and pubs in the Best Bar None Scheme should get a 30% reduction. The members present were happy with the content and the letter will be sent. Andy Richardson had What Pub beer mats and posters available. It was also noted that What Pub still has some small bugs.
