The following extract has been copied and pasted from the Branch Meeting Minutes held on Wednesday February 6th, 2013, at 8.00 pm at The London Inn, Plympton.
Ref Hyde Park, Mutley: there may still be issues that need planning permission. The Friendship Inn, Greenbank, is not going to be turned into student flats, as it was protected from development by using the new Viability Law. The Town House, City Centre, is still fighting demolition plans. Following the collapse of Pubs 'n' Bars Co. 20 pubs are now up for sale including the Eddystone Inn, Heybrook Bay. Because of the position of the building and likely expense of renovation, it is unlikely that the Butchers Arms, Stonehouse, will be a pub again. Change of use may be applied for. The Notte Inn, Barbican, is closed and has been taken over by the restaurant upstairs. St Austell are looking for tenants for the Westward Inn, Lee Mill, and the White Hart, Modbury. The Cornish Arms, Tavistock, is now closed for 4 months or more for refurbishment by St Austell. JD Wetherspoon has been asking why only the Britannia gets into the Good Beer Guide (answer is consistency issues with other JD Wetherspoon pubs in Plymouth). The old library on the Ridgeway in Plympton is to become a JD Wetherspoon. The Admiral MacBride, Barbican, has changed hands. General comment from pub trade that business in January has been poor.
There are now 195 pubs in the What Pub database. Photos are still required for many of these. More beer scores are required to be entered on to the online system. A tasting booklet is available from the Chairman to help with this. Bob and Tom both said that they would like one.
