Pub and Brewery News - January 2015
The following extract has been copied and pasted from the Branch Meeting Minutes held on Wednesday January 14th, 2015, at 8.00 pm at the Hyde Park, Mutley Plain. Dartmoor Best launch will probably be on February 26th at the Plume of Feathers, Princetown. The Function Room will be ticketed; the bar will be open to all. Jail Ale's 21st birthday party will be mid to end March, with a one-off super-Jail (9.5%) being brewed. Dartmoor Dawlish On Track will soon be available in a limited bottle-conditioned edition. The White Thorn, Shaugh Prior, has a new licensee. The Bridge Inn, Ivybridge, is closed. The Boringdon Arms, Turnchapel, and the Victoria, Hooe, both reopened before Christmas.
The new Regional Director, Gareth MacDonald, said that he was sad to hear about Roger Hulbert and passed on his condolences to the branch, family and friends. He reported that What Pub has been a great success with more than 2 million different visitors to the site since September 2013. There are now 10 000 hits per day. This is more than all the other CAMRA websites combined. Plymouth Branch leads the South West in data integrity. The challenge now is to keep it up to date. This is CAMRA's best marketing tool and a 'shop window to the world'. The beer scores available from What Pub should be considered when selecting GBG pubs. Gareth intends to attend our AGM. He thanked everyone in the branch for their work.
