Campaign for Real Ale

Devon Branches Combined Social 2022

Saturday 29 October 2022 10:45

There will be a joint social with Exeter and East Devon, North Devon, South Devon and Plymouth branches of CAMRA. Come along and have a chat with some like-minded real live beer and cider drinkers - I'm sure that everyone needs cheering up after the last couple of years !

The social will take place in the Beer Engine Brew Pub, Newton St Cyres, near Exeter, on Saturday 29th October, from about 1230. We expect to meet at Plymouth North Road railway station at about 1030 to purchase Group Saver tickets (if needed).

Travel Arrangements

We will leave Plymouth railway station for Exeter at 1049, arriving in Exeter at 1154, in order to catch the 1214 train from Exeter St David's to Newton St Cyres (first stop, takes six minutes), which is on the new Dartmoor line. If you miss this train, the next train departs at 1332, or catch a bus from Exeter St David's! There are numerous buses, such as Stagecoach 5, 5B, 5C or Dartline 369 which leave from in front of St David's station.

Background Information

The pub has recently been refurbished and has a large covered patio area, as well as an additional refurbished downstairs bar next to the brewery that leads to the patio. In addition to between four and six Beer Engine beers being available, a pre-ordered buffet will be available. Please help everyone out by pre-ordering the buffet with our social secretary, Andrew Richardson. Please also state if a vegetarian/vegan option or other dietary requirements are needed.
