Pub and Brewery News - February & March 2021
The following pub and brewery news was reported during the February and March virtual Branch Committee meetings.
Pub News
The Stannary Arms, Tavistock, (formally the Tavy Club/RBL Tavistock), has had some building repairs carried out which have now been completed and the pub will be ready to reopen later in the year. The Duke of York, also in Tavistock has a new licensee and has been renamed and rebranded as Bitter & Twisted, “a craft and food bar”. It is also being painted outside. Horse & Groom, Bittaford, will be reopening in April, but without a marque because of unforeseen prohibitive insurance costs. There will still be some seating outside under cover. Gipsy Moth has been refurbished and new cellar equipment installed. The Market Inn, Tavistock, is still advertising for new tenants. Stannary Brewery offered 15% discount during January, whilst Noss Beer Works offered a 25% discount during January. Steel Brew Co, of Royal William Yard, may be relocating. Tuckers Maltings, Newton Abbot, has been booked for SIBA South West Maltings Beer Festival 2021, due to take place from Thursday 30th September until Saturday 2nd October 2021.
